Issue reported:

WSUS and SUP on SCCM primary site server. While running sync for first time it get failed.

Sync failed: UssCommunicationError: WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server > System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443 at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream(TransportContext& ontext). Source: Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.

Solution:

Step 1: Verify require ports based on configurations. (Ex: 80,8530 or 443 or 8531)

Step 2: Make sure below URL should allowed from your wsus to Microsoft. 

Step 3: We have verified from wsus server to Microsoft connection by running tracert command and we have got below result.

Step 4: Based on above error we have take network team help to allow communication as mention step 1 and step 2. WSUS Sync working fine as needed.
