Today going to discussed about CM Backup is keep getting failed. As we backup is most important thing in any of the environment which make us safe.

In Today scenario I am going talk about while enable CM Backup application backup keep getting failed.

All Status message error:

Site Component Manager could not find an NTFS partition on site system "\\XXXXX.XXXX.XXXXXX" to hold the Configuration Manager Server Components' files. Possible cause: The site system does not contain an NTFS partition. Solution: Using the Windows Disk Administrator, create an NTFS partition on the site system, or convert an existing FAT partition to NTFS. Possible cause: The site system is not exporting the default drive letter shares, such as "\\ XXXXX.XXXX.XXXXXX \C$", "\\ XXXXX.XXXX.XXXXXX \D$", and so on.  Solution: You might have disabled the default drive letter shares for security purposes. Configuration Manager requires these shares. Please re-enable these shares using the Windows Disk Administrator. Possible cause: The site system is turned off, not connected to the network, or not functioning properly. Solution: Verify that the site system is turned on, connected to the network, and functioning properly. Possible cause: Site Component Manager does not have sufficient access rights to remotely administer the site system.  Solution: Verify that the accounts are properly configured to allow the site server to remotely administer the site system.

Possible cause: Network problems are preventing Site Component Manager from properly accessing the site system. Solution: Investigate and correct any problems on your network.

Normally while running backup service in SQL Server below registry backup path will created and access  While validate on sql server backup path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_CM CM Server Host-name

While starting backup service below path is not getting created

To Fix above issue SQL Server was in secure zone so no network port was open as require to access File backup path.

Action Taken:

Step 1: Validate From SQL Server CM Backup Path. Getting below ERROR

 Step 2: By seeing above error found there are Firewall has been block and backup source is not accessible from sql server. Considering above error. Open network Port: Internet firewalls can prevent browsing and file sharing

Step 3: Once require communication open and start communication restart backup service and start working as normal.
